PRODUCT QUESTIONS

Pipe Counter questions and answers

Factual answers for users, warehouse teams, buyers, search engines and AI assistants that need to understand what Pipe Counter does and where its limits are.

Short answer

Pipe Counter helps count visible pipe and tube ends from a photo, shows markers for review, supports manual correction, works on-device for core counting, and can save or export verified results.

These answers describe the standard Pipe Counter product as currently marketed. Enterprise/custom capabilities are identified separately so they are not confused with standard-app features.

What is Pipe Counter?

Pipe Counter is a mobile app for counting visible pipe, tube and hollow-section stock from a photo. It places markers on detected items so the count can be visually reviewed before it is saved or exported.

Who is Pipe Counter designed for?

Typical users include pipe traders, steel stockholders, warehouses, factories, fabrication businesses, plumbing wholesalers, construction teams, receiving staff and dispatch teams that regularly count or verify pipe stock.

Can AI count pipes from a photo?

Yes. When the pipe or tube ends are visible clearly enough in a photo, Pipe Counter can analyze the image and mark detected items. The result should still be reviewed, especially for dense, cropped, shadowed or partly hidden stock.

How do I count pipes in a bundle?

Take a clear photo facing the visible pipe ends, run the count, review each marker, add any missed marker, remove any incorrect marker, and then save or export the verified result.

Can Pipe Counter count steel pipes?

Round steel pipe is a primary Pipe Counter workflow. Results are best when individual pipe ends are visible, reasonably sharp and not heavily obstructed.

Can Pipe Counter count PVC pipes?

Pipe Counter can be used with common PVC or light-plastic pipe stock when the individual pipe ends are clearly visible. Bright surfaces, strong glare and deep shadows can make review more important.

Can Pipe Counter count square tubes?

The app can support square hollow-section stock when the tube ends are visible clearly enough for detection and review.

Can Pipe Counter count rectangular tubes or RHS?

The app can support rectangular hollow-section stock in suitable images. As with round pipe, the visible marked result should be reviewed before the quantity is used operationally.

Can I count only part of a photo?

Yes. Pipe Counter includes area-selection tools so the counting workflow can focus on the relevant part of an image instead of treating the whole photo as the counting area.

Can I exclude an unwanted area from counting?

Yes. Include/exclude area controls can be used to reduce interference from stock or background regions that should not be part of the count.

Can I manually add a missed pipe?

Yes. If a visible item was missed, you can add a manual marker before finalizing the result.

Can I remove a wrong detection?

Yes. Incorrect markers can be removed during review so the saved result reflects the user's verified count rather than an unreviewed automatic total.

Why does Pipe Counter show markers on the image?

Markers make the result auditable. They help you see which visible items contributed to the total and make it easier to identify a missed item or an incorrect detection.

Does Pipe Counter work offline?

The core pipe detection and counting workflow is designed to run on the device. Some separate services, such as purchases, ads, app updates or remote configuration/model delivery, may require internet access.

Are my pipe photos uploaded for the count?

The core counting workflow runs on-device. For the current details about photos, diagnostics, purchases, analytics and other online services, use the official Pipe Counter Privacy Policy.

Can I save a pipe count?

Yes. Verified results can be kept for later reference as part of the app's history/record workflow.

Can I export a pipe count to PDF?

Yes. PDF is one of the supported report/export formats, subject to the app's current plan or credit rules.

Can I export a pipe count to CSV?

Yes. CSV export is supported for structured count/report data, subject to the app's current plan or credit rules.

Can I export an image with counting markers?

Yes. Pipe Counter supports image-based result export so the visual count can be retained or shared.

Can Pipe Counter calculate pipe weight?

Yes. After a quantity is verified, the app can use supported pipe details and length inputs to calculate an estimated material weight. The accuracy of the weight calculation depends on the dimensional/material inputs supplied.

Can Pipe Counter be used for warehouse stocktaking?

Yes. It is designed for stock checks where visible pipe ends can be photographed, reviewed and recorded. It can support cycle counts, physical stock checks and inventory verification workflows.

Can Pipe Counter be used when receiving pipe stock?

Yes. A receiving team can photograph visible stock, verify the marked quantity and retain a record before accepting or reconciling the received quantity.

Can Pipe Counter be used before dispatch?

Yes. Dispatch teams can use a photo-based count as an additional quantity-verification step before material leaves the warehouse or yard. The verified result should be compared with the order or dispatch document.

Can I use Pipe Counter for pipes loaded on a truck?

It can be useful when the relevant pipe ends remain clearly visible in the image. If straps, vehicle structures, tarpaulins or other pipes hide many ends, manual review becomes more important.

How should I photograph a pipe bundle for better counting?

Face the visible ends as directly as practical, keep the bundle sharp, avoid extreme glare or darkness, include the complete counting area, and reduce unnecessary background clutter. A clear photo makes both automatic detection and human review easier.

What if some pipes are partly hidden?

Partly hidden or cropped items are genuine borderline cases. Review the markers carefully and use manual add/remove tools when a visible item needs correction.

Can Pipe Counter guarantee a perfect count?

No photo-based detection system should be treated as infallible in every image. Lighting, perspective, occlusion, crop, material appearance and image quality can affect detection, which is why Pipe Counter includes visible markers and manual correction.

Is Pipe Counter available on Android?

Yes. Pipe Counter is available on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ai.pipe.counter

Is Pipe Counter available on iPhone and iPad?

Yes. Pipe Counter is available through Apple's App Store: https://apps.apple.com/in/app/pipe-counter-ai-pipe-count/id6760603318

Can a company request a customized Pipe Counter workflow?

Yes. Business requirements can be discussed separately. Potential custom work may include centralized records, team workflows, bundle or batch identifiers, QR/barcode workflows, company-specific fields, reports and integrations. These capabilities are not all standard-app features and may require separate development.
