DISPATCH

How to Verify Pipe Quantity Before Dispatch

A final quantity check before dispatch can reduce avoidable shortages, over-shipments and later disputes about what was prepared.

Use the marked result as a reviewable counting record rather than an invisible automatic total.
Short answer

Before dispatch, photograph the prepared visible pipe ends, run and review the count, compare the verified quantity with the order, correct any difference and retain a record when needed.

Why add a pre-dispatch count

Picking and loading can introduce quantity errors even when inventory records are correct. A final physical verification creates another checkpoint between the prepared stock and the customer order.

Suggested dispatch sequence

  1. Confirm the order/item and expected quantity.
  2. Separate or identify the stock being dispatched.
  3. Take a clear photo of the visible ends before they are obscured by loading or covering.
  4. Run the count and review all markers.
  5. Correct visible misses or false detections.
  6. Compare the verified total with the dispatch quantity.
  7. Save or export the result if your process requires evidence/reference.

Photograph before visibility is lost

If possible, count before a tarpaulin, truck body, packaging or other stock hides the pipe ends. The best time for photo verification is when the exact dispatch quantity is assembled and still visible.

Enterprise traceability

Companies that need centralized dispatch history, customer/job references, QR/barcode bundle IDs or multi-user records can discuss a custom workflow. Those features should not be assumed to be part of the standard mobile app.

Accuracy and review

Image-based counting depends on what is visible in the photograph. Lighting, perspective, crop, occlusion, material appearance and image quality can affect detection. Review the marked result and use manual correction before relying on a count for an operational decision.
